The Importance of Deep Tissue Massages
Deep tissue
massage is becoming more and more popular as more and more people seek
therapeutic benefits than after their usual relaxation treatment. However,
there is a common misconception about this type of massage. Most people think
that you should use all your weight as much as possible to release contracted
muscle. Your typical "no pain, no gain" theory. Conversely, deep tissue
massage works well with muscle tissue that can cause irritation, but not
inflammatory pain that forces the client to crawl. Heavily damaged tissue can
potentially damage the tissue and trigger a defensive response from the client
blurring the area to be treated.
An
experienced therapist works with muscle tissue at the level of client comfort.
Tightening muscles or applying friction in the opposite direction of the muscle
under slow, firm pressure are some of the desirable approaches.
The use of such
a technique will likely lead to much better results for the client. The deep
tissue massage aims to extend relaxed muscle, which relieves chronic muscle
pain by breaking down muscle and extending the shortened fascia. This improves
blood circulation, improves flexibility and relaxes the muscles. All of this is
important for athletes or addicts who practice, but also for those who want to
improve their overall health and well-being.
As we age,
our muscles are often hacked by various activities, such as: How to sit or work
at the computer for a longer period. If nothing is done, the fascia around the
shortened muscle narrows and the range of motions is lost. You cannot turn your
head to the right or left or touch your toes.
At best, such a restriction on
mobility may not be practical, but this restriction is associated with
disturbances, which are also much more problematic. Because prevention is less
stressful than a cure, regular deep massages should be at the top of your
personal care list!
